I’ve noticed most bloggers, especially beauty bloggers, do these posts where they describe their favourite products they used in the previous month. I decided to give this a try, but with a little twist. I will not write about things I bought and liked but things I did and enjoyed.
1. Autumn photography
Who thought that taking photos of colourful leaves can be so satisfying? Walking in the park, admiring the tall trees with leaves in all sorts of warm colours, while the sun is shining like it is still summer. October was golden. Check out more in this post: Autumn fairytale in Ljubljana
2. New trip ahead
Having travel plans make me feel very reassured. It is something I really look forward to and work towards it. Planning the trip is almost as good as taking it at the end. I love reading about the place I am going to visit and learn as much as possible beforehand. I know Istanbul will be amazing, I will get to show some pretty spots to my boyfriend and discover some new ones together.
3. Pink bike
I got myself a bike at the beginning of the month. And a pink one that is. Since October has been so incredibly warm and sunny I was riding it to work, city center, park, store. I enjoyed it so much and hope that I will get to ride it as much as possible in November as well.
I love that our apartment is facing west and have a wonderful sunset every single evening just by looking out the window. Everyday is different and some days I even think nature competes with itself to create more and more beautiful sunsets every evening. I love to take a few minutes to open my window and just admire this wonderful live painting on the sky.
5. Relaxing evening in a hot tub
Few years ago we discovered that Terme Banovci – thermal spring wellness and pool center also offer romantic baths for two. Our first one was called Chocolate dreams. It was 90 minutes of pure bliss in a hot tub with chocolate fondue, fruits, chocolate shake and some pralines. Since then we go every year at least once to enjoy and have 90 minutes just for ourselves with no distractions. This time we tried one called Sweet sin where we enjoyed ice cream with hot blueberries, fresh fruit and a glass of wine. I am dreaming of having a hot tub at home since then. For the first 20 minutes we were just sitting in warm water in silence while all the stress bubbled away.
6. Autumn food
If there is something I always liked about autumn is food. Pumpkins, apples, cinnamon, chestnuts, hot chocolate… Last year I tried to make chai latte at home and it turned out to be even better than the ones I could find in Ljubljana’s cafes so this is my new favourite drink for autumn and winter. All those lovely spices and creamy texture… This drink screams coziness! Now I just need to try to make pumpkin chai latte. Here is my recipe for Homemade Chai Latte.
7. Meeting with friends
It is always a great idea to meet with friends no matter the season. We invited two of our friends to come see our new apartment and prepared a tiny Octoberfest in our apartment. We bought selection of beers to try and I put together sausages, pickles, cheese, some bread and mustard. It was such a great evening and I really enjoyed preparing this, as it didn’t take much time and cleaning afterwards. I don’t like to over do it, because then I don’t get to enjoy the gathering as much as I could.
October definitely turned out to be much better than I expected. There was so many things going on, from me losing a student status to searching for a way to get employed by my previous employer while still working there to planning a new trip, when we thought that Venice was our last one this year. I also achieved all my unwritten blog goals, which was really surprising (my numbers were higher than previous months, plus I reached over 700 blog views, which is a lot for me).
I cannot wait for what November will bring!
