January Favourites

January is not my favourite month of the year, even though it is my birthday month. It just feels so long and usually it is really cold and the winter just starts to show their teeth. After festive December with Christmas lights and trees, markets and meeting with friends, January feels really dull. Last year I was feeling really down after December and I didn’t want that to happen again, so I tried my best to be happy and positive and to keep some of the December spirit and blink in my life. So what were few of my favourite things in January?

1. My new phone

My old phone was starting to really get on my nerves most of the time. It took forever to do something, sometimes I had to reopen some apps few times before they actually start working and I wasn’t happy with the camera anymore. I had my eyes set on new one since autumn and I finally decided to get a new one in January. New year, my birthday, new phone. 🙂 I got Huawei P20 and I love it.

2. Day trip to Bled

Day before my birthday we decided to do a short day trip to Bled and even though it wasn’t as white as I hoped it will be, it was still so pretty. We got some snacks in the grocery store and went for a walk around the lake, enjoying the views and the beautiful nature. To see more photos check out my previous post Winter in Lake Bled.

3. My birthday

I turned 27 in January and I had a really lovely day. My boyfriend made pancakes for breakfast and he also made pizza from scratch for lunch all on his own. He is not very into cooking so I couldn’t have asked for a better gift. I received lots of great wishes and I hope they will all come true, plus I need lots of luck in February.

4. Hood Burger

I was craving delicious burger for quite a while and then we finally decided to head to Hood Burger which has one of the best burgers in Ljubljana. If you plan to visit Ljubljana, definitely stop by there. They are juicy, fresh, the bun is so soft and they often have some special editions burgers, variety of extras and their fries is really good.

I can say that I definitely didn’t suffer from January blues but there were some things that just confirmed that this month is definitely not my favourite one. After we came home from New Year’s getaway I got sick. Coughing was terrible and it lasted quite a while. So many people I know got really sick in January so it was definitely something in the air. If that wasn’t enough we would need to find a new apartment until March, which is a huge bummer. Renting situation in Ljubljana is terrible and we really love this place. It has everything, from location, charm to the right price. I try to stay positive and we have already started looking so hopefully everything will work out fine. Still the fact that we have to pack everything and then unpack it just makes me wanna crawl in the bed and never leave it. I also put a bit of a break on my blog, but do plan to write more.

  1. OOH, these pictures are stunning and that place sounds so wonderful! My goal for the month is basically surviving through it. I’ve managed to fill up my calendar to its max and I honestly don’t know if I should consider adding planning my own funeral on my to-do list because I’ll probably die haha.
I hope you have a fantastic month ahead!

    1. Ooh…so it will be interesting month. Just try to take some time off every now and then and do something non-productive. It can make a huge difference. Mine will be quite stressful I guess with searching for new apartment and moving. We will get through it! 🙂 Thank you so much for commenting and have a wonderful February!
